10/13/2023 0 Comments Indigo traverse city![]() ![]() What did they make these walls out of cardboard? I always stay on the 4th floor of hotels so it’s quiet. Not only can you hear traffic, but people in the halls talking, doors slamming, a needle dropping. I laugh because it’s winter in Northern Michigan so the traffic is light, but still the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. I didn’t even know Traverse City “traffic” lol. And I’ve traveled to many big cities and never had an issue with traffic keeping me up. They have spacious rooms and a huge working area in the room. I would suggest Cambria for any business travelers. So again not very accommodating for a business traveler. INDIGO TRAVERSE CITY TVThe desk area for working wasn’t very spacious since it’s at the end of where the TV sits. You can get a mini fridge and a microwave in a Super 8 room. ![]() Come on guys this is supposed to be an upscale hotel, put the mini fridge in every room. I did call down and ask about a mini fridge which they carried up and put on the floor. That meant any leftovers I may have I threw away. But as I got into the room the lack of a mini fridge and microwave is annoying for anyone with extended stays. The decor is stylish and trendy so I did give the 2 stars because of that. Not to mention it’s down right annoying to not be able to go grab something out of the car you may have forgotten. Besides rude staff you also have no other choice but to pay for valet (12 a day), which doesn’t seem bad until you stay a week and come and go 6 times a day and tip each time on top of the 12 a day for valet. And mind you there was only one customer besides me in the entire bar. No smile (like Traverse City natives are known for), no small talk. ![]() When I finally found someone he acted as if he was annoyed to take my order. I had to search for staff members to order food the first night. The entire stay I felt as if I was a burden to whoever was waiting on me. I wouldn’t want anyone to compare Traverse City to the horrible service and rude staff at this hotel. I feel I need to write this review so travelers don’t stay at this hotel. I always brag to co workers in the Chicago area how Traverse City is known for friendly faces, good food and hospitality. My stays in Traverse City are always welcoming until this stay. As a Traverse City native that moved to Illinois a few years ago, I come back home at least 5 weeks a year to visit family and friends. ![]() ![]()
